This past weekend we opened the doors to our brand-new Airbus A320 and latest generation Boeing 737 simulators, giving aspiring and current pilots of all ages the chance to fly them both for free. Both days delivered a variety of talks aimed at those interested in starting, or continuing, their development toward a career as an airline pilot.
To celebrate the arrival of our latest A320 simulator we are opening our Airline Training Centre doors to everyone for the whole weekend of 16th and 17th March.
In an initiative designed to align APS MCC training with the latest ICAO developments in Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA), VA Airline Training is strengthening its AirlineReady® APS MCC course with Competency Assurance™ from January 2019.
VA welcomes Abigail Withey to the team in her role as Flight Training Advisor.
Abi has hands on experience with life on board the Boeing 737-800 and the A321 Neo, owing to her experience as cabin crew. With a background in sales and customer service, coupled with a strong interest in aviation, she will be helping our potential APS MCC pilots with course selection.
Kieron Baker joins the team at VA as Marketing Manager, a new role owing to our emphasis on growth.
Having been in marketing for many years, Kieron comes to VA with previous experience working with the likes of Amazon, Eurosport and Cambridge University Press in previous roles. Most recently, he led the marketing efforts of Europes leading Equine Hospital, and joins the team with a keen interest in supporting our ambitions to deliver further quality training to even more pilots.
VA has placed an order with Multi Pilot Simulations (MPS) for a new Airbus A320 FTD1 flight simulator, which will be delivered and installed in February 2019.
The new simulator will allow VA to offer a range of new training services to Airbus operators. It will also enable the company to increase capacity on its popular AirlineReady® APS MCC course, giving trainee pilots a choice of aircraft types.
