Terms & Conditions

These general Terms and Conditions are applicable to all courses and services provided by VA. We advise you to please read them carefully before signing any Training Services Agreement and making any payment.


1. TRAINING SERVICES AGREEMENT

An issued Training Services Agreement with deposit paid confirms your booking, course start date, course duration, course fee, and payment terms.

2. COURSE START DATE

This is the first and most current date of your course of training and will be confirmed on your TSA (updated as required).

3. COURSE DURATION

The approximate duration of your course will be as stated in the course details, provided that VA may, at its discretion, extend as necessary to take account of your ability, competency assurance or otherwise as VA deems necessary for operational reasons.

4. COURSE FEE

VA course fees include VAT at the prevailing rate and are correct at the time of print. VA may either increase or decrease the fee of any course without notice. You will be advised of the current fee before you make any booking and pay your deposit. Any future changes to course fees do not apply retrospectively.

5. COURSE START DATE CHANGES

You may change your course start date up to 30 days before the current start date.

6. DEPOSIT AND CANCELLATION POLICY

You will be asked to pay a deposit (amount stated on your Training Services Agreement) to secure your place on a course. If you cancel your booking completely, you will incur a cancellation fee.

7. CANCELLATION FEES

If you cancel your booking completely, you will incur a cancellation fee:
APS MCC courses - £1,500 if cancelled 30+ days in advance, or 100% if cancelled less than 30 days in advance.
All other courses/bookings - No fee (full refund ) if cancelled more than 7 days in advance. 100% if cancelled less than 7 days in advance.

8. ADDITIONAL FEES

You shall pay to VA all additional course fees (where applicable) which result from any requested extension of/change to a course by you, which shall be calculated by reference to the VA Schedule of Fees. Additional fees are payable prior to the commencement of training unless confirmation has been provided by VA in writing that the additional training is either not chargeable or is payable after training is completed.

9. REGULATORY CHARGES

Charges for personnel licensing and testing are set by the UK CAA/EASA and are revised in April each calendar year. VA has no control over these charges and any increases in charges which may be applied to a course fee will be passed onto you when they become due.

10. COURSE DESIGN, VARIATION AND TRANSFER

VA reserves the right, at any time(s) to vary the content or alter any course design provided that such a variation does not in itself prevent you from attaining a standard advertised as attainable after completing the course of training.

11. COURSE PROVISION

VA will provide training materials, practical training, instructors, simulators and aircraft as appropriate to the design of the course. VA has no further responsibility and gives no guarantee that you will achieve any qualification.

12. COURSE PRE-ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Some Courses are subject to minimum pre-entry requirements which are set out in writing by either: VA, regulatory authorities, airline sponsors or others. VA will inform you in writing at the time of booking of these requirements which will then need your written acknowledgement of intention to meet them. Once booked, you will forfeit your deposit if you either cancel your booking or you attend for training on the course start date without these pre-entry requirements met.

13. ATTENDANCE

VA reserves the right to retain all fees paid due to your failure to attend any booked and confirmed training course on the course start date.

14. MINIMUM AGE AND RIGHT OF REFUSAL

The minimum age for entry into any VA training course is 18 years. VA reserves the right to refuse to accept a booking (providing doing so is in compliance with the Equality Act 2010) onto any course.

15. TRAINEE CONDUCT

The provision of training by VA may be terminated at any time if, in the opinion of VA, your personal conduct is inappropriate, you represent an unacceptable safety hazard or are otherwise unsuited to the course or to piloting an aircraft or simulator.

16. COMPETENCY ASSURANCE™

Competency Assurance™ is a characteristic provided by VA to support the achievement of the required ICAO core competencies and is included with the APS MCC course fee. Competency Assurance™ is subject to certain conditions being met both prior to and during training. The absolute and final decision regarding the award of additional training under CA rests with VA.

17. TRADEMARKS & COPYRIGHT

The trademarks of VA include: AirlineReady®, Competency Assurance™, Virtual Aviation™ and any other trademarks registered from time to time. Images, illustrations, diagrams and photographs used in VA marketing and training materials are protected by copyright. VA trademarks and copyright materials may not be used in any form without the prior permission from VA.

18. FORCE MAJEURE

VA shall not be liable for any failure or delay in providing training, which is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

19. COVID-19 PROCEDURES

VA COVID-19 Procedures and Risk Assessments have been introduced to maximise safety during training activities.  Acceptance of your Training Services Agreement confirms that you have read, understood and will comply with these procedures.

20. COMPLAINTS AND FEEDBACK

We welcome feedback on all of our training courses and customer services. If you have any complaints regarding either the quality of training or the standard of customer care, please notify VA immediately to allow us the opportunity to remedy accordingly.
