VA Airline Training has become the only ATO in Europe to offer a choice of aircraft types for APS MCC.

With the imminent installation of a brand-new Airbus A320 simulator, trainees can now choose between the existing B737-800 or the new A320 for their APS MCC training.

VA will also offer its trainees a greater choice of start dates, by switching from fortnightly courses to weekly courses from 1st April onwards.

Running courses each week will double current capacity and enable VA to meet the growing popularity for its AirlineReady® APS MCC course whilst still maintaining small class sizes and a focus on quality of training.

The new Airbus A320 FTD1 simulator will be interchangeable between the A320ceo and the latest A320neo. Meanwhile, VA’s B737-800 simulator, which was delivered new a year ago, is being upgraded to FTD1 this month, adding even greater fidelity. The FTD1 certification means that both simulators can also be used to deliver Type Rating training for airline customers.

“These investments in airline pilot training resources, courses and facilities at Cambridge Airport have also unlocked significant growth potential for VA to provide a varied portfolio of training solutions to over 500 trainee airline pilots each year.” said Anthony Petteford, Director at VA.
