Exclusively VA cadets at Ryanair's Wings ceremony

Ryanair’s latest Wings ceremony consisted entirely of VA cadet pilots.

Each of the newly-qualified pilots had successfully completed the Ryanair Mentored Programme with VA, and visited the airline’s Dublin headquarters last week for the officially ceremony to gain their wings.

Ryanair recently announced plans to recruit 2,000 new pilots over the next three years to fill positions created by new aircraft deliveries.

The airline has an order for 210 new 197-seat Boeing 737-8200 MAX aircraft, with the first of these being delivered in June and six in service now.

“It’s tremendously rewarding to see dedicated and hard-working cadets finally begin their airline careers” said Kai D. Leifert, Managing Director of VA Airline Training. “The Ryanair Mentored Programme is an ideal way for aspiring airline pilots to fulfil their ambition, so we are proud to be Ryanair’s UK-based partner”.
