VA expands fleet with new Airbus A320 simulator

VA has placed an order with Multi Pilot Simulations (MPS) for a new Airbus A320 FTD1 flight simulator, which will be delivered and installed in February 2019.

The new simulator will allow VA to offer a range of new training services to Airbus operators. It will also enable the company to increase capacity on its popular AirlineReady® APS MCC course, giving trainee pilots a choice of aircraft types.

Anthony Petteford joins VA as Investor and Executive Director

VA has announced that Anthony Petteford is joining the company as an investor shareholder and will take up the role of Executive Director.

With over 21 years of direct senior leadership experience in global aviation pilot training, Anthony joins VA with a strong pedigree in supporting further growth through innovation, quality training and outstanding customer service.

VA increases output to 200 cadets per year

VA has announced a one-third increase in capacity on its AirlineReady™ APS MCC programme, allowing the company to train 200 cadets each year. From September onwards, 8 places will be available on each of the fortnightly courses; up from 6 currently.

During the past six months, strong demand for the company's new AirlineReady™ APS MCC course has resulted in a 50% increase in student numbers compared with the same period last year. At the same time, a change in business model saw the number of students booking directly with VA increase by 300%.
