After completing his MCC+JOC with VA, Chris secured a position with Loganair, flying a powerful rural workhorse - the DHC-6 Twin Otter.
Chris’s passion for flying started young – “Living under the final approach at Glasgow International Airport meant aircraft were overhead all the time, which probably planted the seed.” He began his PPL in 2007 and navigated his way through the various stages of modular flight training, culminating in his MCC+JOC at Virtual Aviation in 2017. Along the way, Chris strengthened his knowledge of aviation by dispatching aircraft at Edinburgh International Airport and a private jet handling company. Chris recommends seeking work at local airports as it gives unrivalled insight into what being a pilot entails, and puts you in contact with a lot of people you can learn from.
About his MCC+JOC training Chris said, “I would definitely recommend Virtual Aviation. Their electronic feedback system is great as after each session you’re given a comprehensive breakdown of where you performed well, and exactly which areas need refinement. It was fantastic to have current and recently retired airline captains flying with us to give invaluable insight into what life is actually like on the line. The staff at Virtual Aviation are very welcoming and professional, and ensure that the teaching methods are standardised, which I felt was very important whilst training."
