OAG reveal Monarch as the UK’s most punctual airline!
At the end of 2015, OAG releases a number of reports, including the "Punctuality League tables" for the year. This report takes into consideration the on-time performance (OTP) for both airlines and airports, and categorises them under several titles, such as Low Cost Carriers (LCC), Mainline Airlines, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and All [airlines worldwide].
Monarch have several core values, such as passion, being meticulous and responsive, and while following these, the company have consistently worked hard to ensure that their passengers have a great experience when travelling with them. This ties in with their vision to “relentlessly evolve our customer experience to deliver what matters to our customer," and in this case, they have improved their on time performance, which every passenger will be grateful for!
Every airline will encounter problems which are external and therefore out of their control, for example issues with weather or air traffic control slots, therefore on time performance is not always in reach. However, Monarch have managed to improve their controllable factors, and have earned the title of the UK’s most punctual airline for 2015, as shown from the latest OAG report. The report itself mentions that Ryanair did not make the requirements to be included in the rankings, however looking at their on time performance for 2015, they may have been a big competitor for Monarch in the overall rankings if they had been included.
Back to the OAG report, Monarch also ranked 14th among the world’s top airlines, with an average on time performance of 88.18% overall. Comparing this result to 2014, Monarch have successfully moved up 4 places from 18th, rising their average on time performance from 86.9% to the improved 88.18%. Also, in the category of mainline airlines for on-time performance, Monarch ranked 13th. To download the report please click here.
OAG’s Punctuality League 2015 is known to be the industry’s most recognised annual ranking of on-time performance for airlines and airports. They are known for creating the annual 'benchmarking report' by looking at a database of more than 50 million flight records, and by also incorporating data from its flight status database, therefore airlines continuously aim to prove their worth by ranking well, and improving year on year, which Monarch have successfully done.
Well done Monarch - a great achievement!
