My life-long passion for flying has been inherited from my father, whose career was an Army Helicopter Pilot, and I basically grew up in a military airport near Rome called Urbe.
I started to play flight simulators when I was at primary school but the very first step I took into aviation was with ultralight aircraft in 2008. I started to fly on a small grass field located 100km south of Rome and there I got my first pilot licence.
Originally intending to join the Air Force, I successfully completed their qualification criteria twice but was not selected due to the incredibly limited number of positions. Finally, in 2011, after one year spent as a Corporal in the army, I moved to Florida to start my aviation career at the Pan Am International Flight Academy near Orlando. There I got all my FAA licences and also the UK CAA ATPL.
In October 2014 I went to Cambridge and at Virtual Aviation I found a really professional group of people ready to help me to complete the very first step into commercial aviation. In 2015 I decided to go to Latvia to commence training with airBaltic in order to get my first Type Rating on the Boeing 737. A few months later, I was called for the line training with airBaltic, and I am with the company today as a First Officer.
I really enjoyed the time spent with Virtual Aviation in Cambridge. First of all I will never forget the warm welcome received from all the members of staff and I also remember with real pleasure two instructors Rob Bryce-Smith and Rob Michie. I think their advice and suggestions helped me to understand the concepts of CRM and the actual job of a pilot.
