LPC Renewal & Revalidation

Has your LPC expired? Are you within 5 years of the expiry? Do you need to maintain your type rating on a specific aircraft type? Virtual Aviation has the experience and knowledge to organise this for you.

A pilot working for an airline will normally be flying one type of aircraft, but might also have other Type Ratings on their licence and might wish to keep those ratings active for the ‘just in case’ scenario, especially in light of current trends in the aviation and pilot recruitment markets.

We only use the best TREs/TRIs
Virtual Aviation has access to some of the country’s best TREs and TRIs which are all hand-picked for your training and check sim sessions. We pride ourselves on their knowledge and experience and ability to train pilots rather than like the old day ‘check’ pilots.

How long does the LPC take?
A normal LPC with no re-takes can be done as an average in a 3-hour session, however, we would recommend 4 hours to ensure that you get the most out of the session and allowing for re-takes of any items. The TRE’s can then sign your licence which is then validated for another year.

What if I need refresher training?
If you have been out of check for more than a year, but less than 5 years, then we can give you advice based on your flying experience and current status as to how much training you would need to complete before being able to take the LPC test. This is not a mandatory requirement, but you might feel that you require refresher training before being tested.

If your licence is over the 5 year expiry date, then we can also recommend training establishments (TRTOs) that will be able to help you achieve the re-validation of that Type Rating, as after a 5 year gap, there will be an element of Ground School Training to complete before entering in to the simulator phase (Section F 4.4 – LASORS 2008 Document).

What aircraft types do we offer?
Please see our Locations & Simulators page for all available types. We do regret however, the one aircraft type that we cannot offer at present is the B777. Please note - an LPC is a legal simulator check and as such, can only be completed on a Full Flight simulator.

PNF - no problem!
If you have your own PNF, then this of course helps you as you know that person, and will also make the training price that bit cheaper, however, we also have access to many pilots on various aircraft types willing to jump in the other seat – be it LHS or RHS.
