Boeing 747-400

The 747-400 is the latest version of Boeing’s ubiquitous Jumbo Jet. The first -400 entered service in 1989, twenty years after the original 747-100.

The 747-400 can be distiguished from earlier B747-100/200/300 ‘Classics’ by the six-foot high winglets which improve its aerodynamic performance. Other major improvements include new engines, a re-designed passenger cabin and an all-new ‘glass’ cockpit.
