It was the most wonderful experience for Liam yesterday and he really enjoyed it. He came back saying it was the best thing he had ever done and has swapped e-mail addresses with the other lads on the course so they can continue to stay in touch and support each other. Thank you for doing so much work to get these events organised and please pass on our heartfelt thanks to the pilots for their time and care. It was certainly appreciated. Best wishes to you all.

It's hard to put into words just how good this was! From the very first phone call, right through to the end of the experience, I was dealt with professionally and was made to feel very welcome at the centre. There was nobody trying to rush me along, it was all done with patience and understanding. As for the flying itself, it was amazing! As far as I was concerned it was real and despite some real challenges I was happy that I would have kept a real aircraft in one piece! Please pass my personal thanks to Simon Taylor who really made the day special and, of course, to all of the staff at Virtual Aviation. I would recommend you to anyone, of any ability, to try their hand at flying! Thank you once again, I look forward to returning in the near future. Kind regards

Just a letter to say how much I enjoyed the simulator on Saturday, I thought the advice on how to get in was very good, and the pilots were very friendly, the Airbus was a good aircraft to fly, and hope I will be doing that in real life soon. The only problem is that my FS2002 at home seems nowhere near as realistic as it used to! Thank you very much.
DAN FELD

Dan really did enjoy Saturday! On behalf of Tara and myself (the donor of his Xmas present) we too would like to say thank you very much. The gift most definitely lived up to expectations and it was all so well delivered. So a big thank you to you, Steve and Pete - it really was a fab day for him. One day it might be payback time for all those school fees we have paid if we get the odd cheap flight courtesy of Captain Feld! All the best and thanks again.

Just a quick email to say thank you for a brilliant afternoon on Saturday. I really enjoyed every aspect of the course - but especially my time in the simulator and I am even more certain that this is the career I want to pursue! I will be contacting you for more advice this time next year after I have completed my A2's; in the meantime I shall be continuing with my PPL training. Thanks again.

I am writing to say thanks for such an amazing day on Saturday. The motion of the simulator was so real, I can't get used to the flight simulator on my computer now! I have made up my mind that being a commercial pilot is the way I want to go. Thank you to Steve and Pete, who gave me invaluable advice about how to pursue my dream! I hope to be flying with you guys one day soon... Thank you!

I just want to thank you so very much for making it a very special day, it will certainly be a day to remember. The experience of the 737 flight simulator was fantastic. You gave me such great incentive to continue with my ambition in becoming an airline pilot. Over the last few days I have sent off to many air training companies seeking information packs as regards to various training schemes. I would really appreciate it if your offer is still there on me contacting you if I need any further information. Once again thank you very much, and I hope you continue to have many more comfortable, enjoyable and very safe flights for many many years to come.

Just a really quick e-mail to say a huge thank you for Sunday it was the most surreal experience of my life. Anyway, the main reason for this e-mail is just to tell you that the experience re-lighted my passion for flying and I can hardly contain my determination. I have taken some of your advice, I am in the process of completing an application form for Flight Training Europe and am hoping to go down to Jerez for a visit next week for a few days as I have a week off! Once more a great big thank you, and if you’re ever short of a first officer just drop me a line and I'll be there in a flash.

I would like to say that the experience was superb fun and totally compelling! To get the chance to fly such a complex aircraft was a dream come true. Some would argue that aptitude tests conducted, by say, the RAF would suffice instead of the expense of flying a simulator. Having done both, I would disagree. This is a good indicator of whether you’re made of the right stuff - but with the fun of flying an airliner into the bargain! Four hours may seem like along time sat in the ‘sweat box’ but believe me, it isn’t. There’s plenty for you to do in there, and eventually you’ll get given more and more complex tasks to perform…if you’re up to it of course. I particularly enjoyed flying the aircraft with the auto throttle and flight director disengaged, whilst flying on instruments, in cloud, and attempting to land on 26L at Gatwick . A friendly but honest appraisal comes from your training captain and technical director soon after stopping on the runway. Then we do it all over again, only this time we’ll land at Heathrow 27L after a descent from flight level two zero zero from somewhere over the Midlands. It’s a bit like trying to pat your head whilst riding a unicycle. A challenge most certainly, but it is a useful and constructive exercise. One could call it the eye opener to what lies ahead for the aspiring flight crew member. It’s plainly obvious that real dedication and natural aptitude is required to fly to the exacting standards required of professional pilots. I think this is the most important thing you learn when here. Considering the enormous financial sacrifice that everyone faces in paying for training, this pilots of the future programme is well worth attending. It’s certainly given me the incentive to go on. I hope to be flying in a professional capacity for real one day. Good luck to all you future pilots. Enjoy it.
