Course Itinerary

When you arrive at the training centre you'll be introduced to your pilot and the three other participants. The itinerary for the programme is then as follows:

Pre-Flight Briefing

The briefing starts with an informal discussion so that your pilot can find out about your own personal circumstances and give you an insight into the lifestyle of an airline pilot, and the training that is required to become one. The second half is a pre-flight briefing before your simulator flight.

Simulator Flight

The simulator flight lasts two hours; one hour flying and one hour observing. Participants are paired into crews and will get the opportunity to experience operating the aircraft both as pilot flying and pilot non-flying, just like in real airline operations. Together with your instructor, you will be flying a £10-million full-motion flight simulator that is normally used to train airline crews, usually an Airbus A320 or Boeing 737. The purpose of the simulator flight is to let you experience flying a large jet aircraft and motivate you. Your pilot will provide constant hands-on guidance and will be able to assess your level of natural ability.

De-Briefing

The final hour is spent in the briefing room where your pilot will give you the information, advice and guidance you need to set you on course for a rewarding airline career. Necessary qualifications, training options, sponsorship and employment opportunities will be just some of the topics covered.

Information Pack

You will receive a certificate of attendance and a full course pack summarising the information given to you during the session.
