bmi simulator assessments take place at the bmi Training Centre near London Heathrow Airport, using an Airbus A320 simulator.
We operate several Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulators at three major airports:

I opted to attend a two-hour simulator session in preparation for my upcoming BMI sim ride. My instructor had a positive, friendly disposition and was extremely knowledgeable of both the aircraft and the airline profile. This saved copious amounts of time once in the sim. The instruction was truly fantastic and it enabled me to grasp the basic handling of the aircraft in minimal time, to the extent that, at the end of the two-hour detail, I was feeling very confident with the Airbus and the content of the profile. I went on to pass the BMI sim ride and expect a course date for the A320 late summer. Many thanks to Ben and the team at VA, I'm very grateful.

A couple of weeks ago my friend Andy and I did a practice for a BMI sim check on the A320 with you at Virtual Aviation. You weren't sure where we were going to get the engine failure, before or on the ILS. I think it may vary depending on which Captain assesses you, but our Captain sort of froze the aircraft in space while on an intercept for the ILS in a fully clean configuration. Andy's and my sim check went well, I personally flew it tens times better than when I was with you. Doing the practice was worth every penny. Andy and I both got offered the job with BMI last week. We also got job offers with BA Connect which was a bonus. Needless to say we have both opted for BMI and start our type rating in April. Thanks again for your help.

Just to let you know, following the sim I did with Gerard at Luton about 6 weeks ago, I have had an interview and sim ride with bmibaby, and have been offered a job flying 737s out of East Midlands. So, once again, thanks very much indeed for your help - I doubt I would have passed had I not at least experienced the sim beforehand. Please pass on my thanks once again to Gerard. I thoroughly recommend a couple of hours in the sim for anyone who has not flown or experienced an EFIS-equipped jet airliner in preparation for an assessment. Once again, many thanks.

It's Jason from the 12th & 14th Jan sim sessions. Just wanted to let you know the sim check with BMI went extremely well. The practice sessions I had proved invaluable. I got my contract through on Friday! I shall be flying out of Heathrow on the A320, I start my type-rating on 4th April. Thank you for all of your help, I have recommended Virtual Aviation to Oxford. As far as negative comments are concerned, the only ones I can think of are my own performance during the session! As far as Marcus is concerned, well he was patient and more than helpful. Although I struggled to grasp some of the advice and tips he gave at the time, after reflecting on them the following day I have no doubt they played the major part in my success in the sim check. I am now due to start my BMI A320 type rating and believe I owe a great deal of this to both Marcus and Virtual Aviation. With thanks.
